Mobile payment company, Billee approached Midnight Co. to develop a phone webapp for their client, Groupe Lucien Barrière to enable phone payment in their hotel restaurants. The main objective of the app was to ease payment of meals without physically getting the check.
Each table would have a QR code that correspond with the item that were ordered. These items would have been keyed in by the waiter after ordering. Diners would scan the QR code to pay for the meals.
The unique features of this app is that diners can choose to pick the check fully or decide which items on the list to be paid seperately by their own. Hence, eliminating human error while paying individually to the cashier.
The app has was released in 2020 and is currently being used in Barrière and other restaurants all over France as part of Covid-19 safety measure.
The app has since been adapted to different brands that have procured this service. Example: Billee X Holly's Diner
